By its very nature, wire EDM (electrical discharge machining) attracts a lot of attention. Using an energized strand of brass wire to slice through difficult-to-machine materials and create intricate profiles and tapers as the wire follows its programmed path is quite remarkable. In the last 25 years, novel and inventive applications for this process have been appearing constantly. At the same time, manufacturers of wire EDM equipment have been constantly improving and speeding up their models. It’s no wonder that most discussions of wire EDM gravitate to the latest and greatest.
It’s important in this competitive marketplace to constantly update your equipment, to keep up with all the advances being made in this field.
That’s why we recently purchased two new Mitsubishi wire EDM machines (bringing our total up to seven). They are the latest, most accurate, most energy efficient machines available from Mitsubishi today. With these new machines, we are capable of holding tolerances of +/- .0002 through material as thin as paper to as thick as 11.8000 inches thick. The finishes these machines are now capable of making, range from a rough-cut dull satin appearance to an almost mirror finish on some materials.
It doesn’t matter how complex or how difficult the job, if you’re looking for high-precision burr free parts, wire EDM is going to be the most cost efficient way to go. Sometimes wire EDM is the only way to do a job. Certain features or tolerances can’t be produced any other way.
We pride ourselves on providing our customers with the latest and greatest technologies this field has to offer. Thus enabling us to produce the best possible parts for our customers.
